Getting rid of tree stumps is one thing that we all want to do to ensure that our compound and farm land looks good and well taken care of. Tree stumps are also known to attract termites, ants and other pests that can cause damage to the farm or land if not taken care of in a timely fashion. So, when you want to do away with these unsightly stumps, you have to get rid of them in the best way possible. You will have to get the stumps off your field using the equipment you have. If you do not have any equipment, it will take you quite a long time to manually dig out the stumps yourself and cut up each piece. As such, getting rid of tree stumps may be quite cumbersome and frustrating on your end which is why many choose to hire out the job.
Here are some ways to get rid of the tree stumps:

Grinding the stump

This is one of the easiest ways to remove stumps from your farm. However, with this method, you will not get rid of the roots as they will still remain underground. It is also good in that you will end up with a small hole after grinding out the stump. A stump grinder will help you do this more effectively. The grinder is the most suitable tool to use here because it comes equipped with a high speed rotating wheel that cuts the stump down. It will progressively do this until the whole stump is ground to its lowest level. The stump grinder can be expensive to rent as well as a professional to do the work.

Pulling the stumps

If you are dealing with stumps that are less than 15 inches, you could just pull them out. This is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to clear stumps out of your home or farm. A farm jack can easily be used to pull the stumps out. For large stumps, you may choose to use a tractor to do the pulling. Even a four-wheel-drive truck or car can do this. You will, however, need a tow rope to help handle the stress of pulling the stumps out of the soil.

Burning the stumps

This is an easy thing to do. You only need to make sure you burn the stumps at the most appropriate time. For the people who want to enjoy some backyard fire, a campfire sort of, your stumps bring the perfect solution. If you have many stumps, then you could enjoy an evening campfire over a number of days. To be on the safe side, ensure you have informed your fire department of your impending campfires so that they don’t get alarmed by the smoke. You may want to make the burning experience easy by drilling some holes into the stump and pour enough kerosene into the holes. You can give the stump two weeks to let it absorb the kerosene completely. After the two weeks, spread enough charcoal on the bottom of the stump and add some firewood. You are now ready to enjoy your campfire as you do away with the stumps at the same time.
