Quick and easy pelmet

You don't need any sewing skills or power tools to make this quick and easy pelmet. It's made from corrugated cardboard!

YOU WILL NEED:

Corrugated cardboard - old boxes are great
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Fabric for cover
Decorative trim
Paper clips
Scissors
Craft knife
Ruler and pencil
Cutting mat

DIY Tip:
It's better to have the corrugations running lengthwise to prevent bending once you hang up.

HERE'S HOW:

1. Cut the cardboard to the size and shape of the pelmet you would like to have. Remember to allow strips to fold over for the sides.

2. Place the cardboard on your fabric and cut out - allowing extra fabric to fold over and attach to the back. Use a hot glue gun to attach the fabric to the back of the cardboard.

3. Use a hot glue gun to add your decorative trim along the bottom edge of the pelmet. This helps to hide any creases and provides a neat finish to your pelmet. You can use any type of trim - even ribbon - to add a decorative finish.

4. To hang your pelmet, hammer picture hooks into the wall at the right height and width.

5. Use your hot glue gun to attach extra large paper clips to the top of each side - close to the edge. Alternatively, you could use extra small cup hooks.
