Vermont Sales is extending its mammoth line-up of international blue-chip brands yet again with the introduction of the rugged CAT power tool range - heating the South African market. Cat power tools have been exclusively awarded to the Vermont Sales group and will be available to customers at the beginning of 2021.
This week, power tools manufacturer, CAT, introduced its CAT DX12 Cordless ~ Brushless Drill to the South African market. CAT is designed and manufactured by Positec who are also the makers of innovative WORX range, Kress and other leading successful brands. Sold, in South Africa, by Vermont Sales under the license from Caterpillar, the CAT range of tools includes power tools utilising the latest Graphene battery system - a brand-new technology that is well on the way to leading in the cordless tool category.
With a RRP of R3999, the CAT DX12 Brushless 18V Hammer Drill will be available via Makro and select online retailers www.catpowertools.co.za “When compared with various other cordless drills currently available on the market, the CAT DX12 is more compact, yet offers greater power and it is much faster and incredibly tough, making it the ultimate workhorse for all,” says Greg de Villiers, Brand Manager at Vermont Sales.
CAT tools undergo rigorous testing, including repeated drop tests, repetitive drilling, as well as extensive water, dirt and dust tests, plus temperature extreme survivability, vibration and tumble tests.
At the beginning of 2021, this brand new technology will be made available to South African customers, specifically aiming at construction, trade, renovation, and serious DIY enthusiasts. “South Africa is an important marketplace for CAT power tools - the country has a strong mix of work- and lifestyle led customers who require more of their power tools,” said Wiktor Wencel, Export Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at Positec International. He went onto say that the company has been working at introducing their brands and technology in SA since 2015.

We undertake customer surveys around the globe to show that CAT is well supported in South Africa, and further giving us an in-depth insight into who our customers are what they need from their power tools. Wencel explains the updated CAT power tool range is made up of a universal battery system with [1] battery and [1] power supply fitting across all models of CAT cordless tools in the range.
