Following up on classes earlier this year, you can now sign up for Foodie Night School Masterclass in conjunction with South Africa's oldest cookery school.
If you love everything food, now you have the opportunity to hone your skillet skills and get to grip using the grill by discovering the best way to cook a steak. Not only that, you will also learn the best accompaniments to complement your meat cut. And participants will be taught how to prepare a classic Béarnaise Sauce and a creamy Pepper Sauce – both perennial favourites at The Hussar Grill.
The 2020 series of Steak Masterclasses hosted by The Hussar Grill will take place at the prestigious Silwood School of Cookery in Cape Town. The masterclass evening events are open to all - even those without former cooking training and are a great way for budding or amateur chefs to learn more, or anyone looking for a deliciously different night out. And it’s best to come hungry – definitely don’t eat dinner beforehand as three steak courses await!
As part of the evening masterclasses, those attending will learn how to grill a steak to the rare or medium stage, plus, the classes will cover how to wet-age meat in your own home and will provide plenty of tips on braaiing and stovetop grilling your meat.
After cooking your steak to perfection and preparing the sauce, guests will enjoy the spoils while they are still hot and wash down in style. The on-hand Silwood staff - the country's oldest cookery school - will keep your wine glasses full with Ernst Gouws & Co vintages.
The cost to attend a The Hussar Grill Steak Masterclass is R650 per person and includes the use of all provided equipment and ingredients, tuition and wine. The masterclasses are approximately three hours in duration and run from 18h30 to 21h30. Booking is essential due to the limited places available.
