If only there were somewhere in the world that ticked all the boxes. That offered sun, beaches, and history. Where there are Dionysian carnivals with fantastic food on offer. Where there’s great wine and diving, and it’s still cheap.

It just so happens that Cyprus ticks all of these boxes, and more. Despite suspending their ‘golden passport’ scheme for the moment, Cyprus remains a paradise. It has serious draws for holidaymakers and investors alike.

Luckily, their Permanent Residence programme is still in place. So Cyprus can still be an inexpensive option for you. With so much on offer, however, you might be struggling to know where to start.

To help out, we’ve listed our favourite districts in Cyprus to buy property - just keep scrolling!

Paphos

Did you know that Paphos has been ranked as the best city to live in Cyprus for seven years in a row? Do you want to know why?

This coastal city in Cyprus’ Southwest is a favourite with expats. With not only sea and beaches on offer, but hills, forests and mountains, it’s no wonder why.

In Paphos, there are ample malls and shops to keep you occupied. Plus, if you want to get out of town, there are good roads and connections to the whole of Cyprus. Paphos also has some of the best healthcare available and real estate is affordable.

With Paphos International Airport just fifteen minutes drive away, you can start your holiday sooner. And with low tax and crime rates to top it all off, why not choose Paphos as the place?

For the outgoing expat - choose Paphos.

Nicosia

Nicosia is a city seeped in history. Its famous ‘Green Line’ even cuts Cyprus in two and is guarded by soldiers. But don’t let that put you off.

Cyprus’ capital is popular and populated. There’s a mixture of city and village life that offers a blend of culture and history. If you don’t mind being based away from the sea, and want a bit of hustle and bustle, then Nicosa is for you!

It’s mainly apartment living in the capital - a market which is constantly increasing in value. Look out from your balcony over Venetian, English, and French architectural glories.

For the city-slicker in Cyprus - choose Nicosia.

Limassol

Limassol is modern with a cosmopolitan feel. You’ll find plenty of nightlife on offer in Cyprus’ business capital. On the other hand, there’s always a beautiful boardwalk calling you to an evening walk.

It’s a bit more expensive than Paphos but it has beaches like Kourion just fifteen minutes drive away. If swimming isn’t quite your thing, then why not wait until winter to go skiing on Troodos mountain?

Limassol has the best of both worlds for residents. There’s a sense of history here mixed with a contemporary buzz. Meander through the cobbled streets of the old town down to the harbour. Or take a stroll along Molos promenade at sunset.

For an active, healthy lifestyle - choose Limassol.

Larnaca

If you’re after a slightly slower pace of life, then Larnacca is the place to be. It’s compact but has easy access to Cyprus’ other regions.

Enjoy a slice of traditional island life in Cyprus’ wine capital. With a low cost of living and no import tax, Larnacca is a retirement paradise. There’s a culture of locals and ex-pats working side by side here.

It’s no surprise either with Larnacca’s easy-going vibe. Plus, it’s still only a thirty-minute drive to either Limassol or Nicosia.

For a chilled-out lifestyle - choose Larnacca

From Nicosia to Larnacca, Cyprus has a range of amazing cities to live in. Whether you’re looking for an apartment, a villa, or even land to develop, though, you’ll want someone you can trust.
