Linoleum actually hardens with age and becomes even more durable with exposure to light and air, making it a very affordable option as a flooring or countertop material. It has been used as a flooring material Scratches are easily repaired by buffing with a small amount of toothpaste and a paper towel. And because the colour goes through the product, any scratches are not easily visible.

Linoleum can be glued to existing countertops or a plywood base.

Not only good for kitchen countertops, you could easily use linoleum in a bathroom as well.
