Make a reclaimed wood table

Use reclaimed wood or a pallet to fashion a rustic wood table for your garden or patio. Many stores that stock large appliance, furniture and retail goods use wood pallets and it's just a matter of finding one that is willing to let you take a couple of pallets, either for free or at a small cost.

With reclaimed wood you can make a multi-function table that is ideal for use in the garden, on your deck or patio.

YOU WILL NEED:

Dremel DSM 20
Dremel Multi-Max
4 x 55mm cut screws
Drill / Driver plus assorted bits

HERE'S HOW:

1. Use a Dremel DSM 20 and DSM500 cutting disc to cut the pallet in half along the centre support beam. Use the beam as a guide as you cut through the wooden planks. Put the centre beam aside, as you will use this for the legs for your reclaimed table.

GOOD TO KNOW
Check along the planks for any nails and remove these before you start cutting.

2. Take off the planks and re-position these to fit more tightly together for the top of the table. You can use scrap planks from the removed portion of the pallet if you need more wood to fill. Any stubborn nails can be cut using a Dremel Multi-Max.

3. Plunge cut the centre three planks in a rectangle to make space for your plants to sit. Use offcuts and scrap piece to craft a box to sit underneath the table for holding plants.

4. Cut the centre beam that you put aside into 4 sections of equal length to create the legs to your table. Screw the legs to the side frame with 4 x 55mm cut screws.
