Hire your power tools

Not everyone has a workshop full of every imaginable power tool, or the budget to be able to buy them. If you're tackling a home improvement or renovation - hire the power tools you need.

If you've decided that DIY is the best way to go for your next home improvement or renovation project, you don't have to go out and spend a fortune on tools you don't already own. There are hire shops around the country where you can hire tools by the day, week or month, or however long you need them for your DIY project.

With the increase in home DIY, many people are deciding to take the do-it-yourself route for projects where they have a basic understanding of what's involved. Additionally, there are plenty of casual labourers will do the heavy work for you - with a little guidance and supervision to do the job right.

When making the decision to do a project on your own, investigate what tools you'll need to complete the project, and whether or not you want to buy or hire them.

When you're taking on a project that requires specialist tools, buying can be expensive and even by doing the project yourself, it can be hard to justify the cost of tools. Hiring tools by the day or week is the easy option.

There are hire tool stores around the country, and any good hire company will be able to provide you with instructions on how to operate and use the tool/s you're hiring. Ask the hire company for all the necessary accessories before leaving the store. You don't want to start a project and have to stop half-way.

GOOD TO KNOW: Hire companies don't offer safety gear, so kit yourself with the necessary safety goggles, gloves and dust masks when operating machinery or tools.
