Still in love with teal or turquoise?

I must be honest and say that I still love teal or turquoise. I'm not one of those that believes you have to re-paint or re-decorate your home every time a new colour trend comes around, even though I just painted my dining room wall in a different colour (it was previously a deep turquoise colour).

I personally believe that style and colour are a personal choice and a decision each homeowner or decorates according to their own preferences, and not by what trends may come and go. There are still more than a few interior designers that continue to use teal or turquoise as part of a decor scheme, and there is no reason why you can't choose your favourite colours for decorating.

While you may not be a fan of teal (or turquoise) but love other colours - go for it...! I know there are those who love shades of lilac or mauve, or bolder colours such as magenta pink, vivid orange, deep blue, etc., and if done right, there is no reason why colour won't look good in any home.

Teal and turquoise are colours that mix and match with a variety of other colours. Love this nursery (above) with white, lime green and dark wood accents.

Decorating my own home in a rather eclectic style has made me realise that it isn't always necessary to follow the trends when it comes to colour. If you have your own favourite colours - there's no reason why you can't use these colours in the home.
