Create embellished letters

Take a look around your home and you are bound to come across odd pieces of broken jewellery, single earrings, buttons and other items that you can use to create your own embellished letters. It's so easy...

I found this project on i love to create and it shows how stunning these embellished letters look once they are given a coat or two of Rust-Oleum Universal - pure gold.

Take a look around your home, particularly in your bedroom and jewellery box, and you are sure to come across various pieces of accessories that can be used as embellishments for your letters. You can even ask family and friends if they have any items you can use as well.

Use a jigsaw to cut your letters out of pine offcuts, or buy a small piece of pine and make more than one letter - they are great for gifts too! Arrange all the pieces so that they fit nicely onto the letters before you glue them in place with 5-minute epoxy glue. This is the best glue to use for this type of project and will ensure that the pieces don't fall off later on.

Once the glue has set - and it only takes 5-minutes - place your embellished letter on a piece of dropcloth and lightly spray on two coats of Rust-Oleum Universal - pure gold. There are other metallic colours in the range, or you could also use any of the Rust-Oleum 2X colours.

Thanks to Patti for this wonderful project idea.
