Candles are always a great gift to give, but here's how to transfer a photo image onto a candle to display treasured family photos in a new way.

YOU WILL NEED:

PC printer and A4 sheet of printer paper

White or pearl tissue paper

Wax paper

Pillar candles

Clear tape

Scissors

Hair dryer

HERE'S HOW:

1. Place a piece of trimmed tissue paper on top of your A4 printer paper. Stick the tissue paper onto the printer paper with clear tape. The tissue paper must be shiny side down and be flat against the A4 paper. Place into your printer paper tray (correct side up) and print your photo onto this,

GOOD TO KNOW: Make sure that the photo is wide enough to wrap around as much of the candle as possible, and try to select and image that will be shorter than the height of the candle.

2. Position the printed tissue paper where you want it to be on the candle. Cut a piece of wax paper slightly larger than the tissue paper and place it over the photo with the shiny side down. Hold tightly at the back, making sure the wax paper is completely flat and that there are no bumps or air bubbles under the wax paper.

3. With a high-heat setting, use your hair dryer to heat up the wax paper and fuse the tissue paper image onto the candle. The heat will melt the coating on the wax paper and bond the tissue paper photo directly onto the surface of the candle.

GOOD TO KNOW: If you want to make more than one photo candle use a new piece of wax paper each time.

4. Gently peel away the wax paper and let the candle cool for about an hour to allow the photo to set.
