I love getting crafty with my hot glue gun and there are hundreds of creative ideas on Pinterest and other sites that are really pretty and practical. Here are just a few of the fun craft ideas where you can get creative with a hot glue gun.

Use scrap wood to make up a sign for your home or office and finish this off with a glue gun and your favourite word or sentence. It's so easy to do and you can peel it off and change it when you like. Amy at ModPodge Rocks made a pretty hello board.

Christmas is just down the road and you can be crafty with a hot glue gun to make your own hot glue snowflake decor to hang on the tree or to decorate a window. Craft your designs on a piece of wax piece or tin foil so that they are easy to peel off once you've made them. Add colour with craft paint or spray paint.

Take a cheap vase and dress it up with a hot glue gun. Use clear or coloured glue sticks and keep it plain and simple, or add your own creative design.

Give new life to old clothes by making your own hot glue gun stencils. Apply the hot glue gun onto a piece of brown paper and then place on a piece of clothing. On the studio blog they show an easy way to give a new look by spattering over the stencil with bleach, or you can use food colouring on light coloured clothes.

You can use a hot glue gun to make your own stencils for stamping or painting fabrics. The hot glue prevents the paint from bleeding into the surrounding fabrics and creates a wonderfully unique design.
