Make a designer shower curtain

Here's how to transform a plain, plastic shower curtain into an attractive shower panel that you can easily co-ordinate to match your bathroom decor.

I came across this idea on SAS Interiors, and although the concept is a simple one, it's not something you would automatically think of. Most options available for shower curtains are not very attractive, or even downright cheesy, but this idea allows you to use any fabric to create your own shower curtain.

To make your designer shower panel you will need to purchase a plain white plastic shower curtain. You may have to shop around a bit to find nice hooks, similar to those used in this project, but I have seen 'S' hooks that would be perfect.

To make the fabric panel part of the shower curtain you will need to hem the fabric on all four sides. Allow an extra 10 cm of fabric for a fold-over at the top of the panel. Before folding and sewing the top panel, cut and sew button holes to match the positioning of the shower curtain.

After you have sewn the top edge in place, you can mount the fabric panel onto the hooks. And it’s done.  This really is a simple and easy project that makes a huge impact!
