Painstakingly restored and transformed, the railway carriage, originally constructed in the 70s for travel around South Africa, now has a permanent berth at the Mantis Founders Lodge where it serves as unique accommodation for up to 5 guests in 2-berth and 1-berth cabins. The carriage also includes lounge areas, dining facilities both indoor and outdoor, as well as an outdoor deck with boma and a private swimming pool on the grounds.
The Founders Railway Carriage offers an indoor and outdoor dining experience and lounge areas, all with dedicated staff on hand to provide personal service.
Guests can choose from two accommodation options, single-berth, or smaller two-berth cabins on the Founders Railway Carriage, both of which include a personal team to ensure guests have a wonderful stay.
