So often I come across DIY enthusiasts who don't understand the process of assembling and installing drawers to their DIY furniture projects. Having been one of those people myself not too long ago, I can sympathise with you. However, and as I often discuss in our DIY Divas Workshops, once you have made your first furniture project and installed drawers, you will never look back.

Making drawers is actually a very simple project to do. But what tends to throw most people off is fitting and installing the drawers into the cabinet or cupboard. What if the drawers are too big or too small? How do I ensure the correct size of drawer? How do I fit drawers into my project? These are all questions that pop up at our workshops. In an effort to show you just how easy it is to build and fit drawers into projects, I found the perfect video below that explains everything in beginner terms.

The only thing to bear in mind when watching this video is that they talk about Imperial measurements. What they refer to as 1/4" = 12mm, and 3/4" = 19mm. Additionally, the ball-bearing drawer runners can be bought at any Gelmar store, and they are 13mm in width and come in varying lengths. Plus you can select soft-close drawer runners, under-mount drawer runners to fit underneath drawers, and full-extension drawer runners - all of which are mentioned in the video.
