Tree and decorative lights

Recycle cardboard tubes, or be on the lookout for storage reels that can be used to store your fairy lights. Wrap these carefully around rolls or reels so they stay tangle-free - for holiday decorating that is stress-and kink-free.

Caring for an artificial Christmas tree

The most efficient way to store your artificial tree is in a bag or cardboard box. You can re-purpose an old tent bag or large gym bag to break down and store your tree. Alternatively, for a quick on-hand solution, carefully wrap your tree with cling wrap before storing in a cardboard box.

GOOD TO KNOW: Store an artificial Christmas tree inside two extra-large garbage bags and hold in place with several wraps of masking tape. Don't forget to pop the stand inside as well!

Store breakable baubles and tree decorations

When buying baubles and ornaments for the tree, keep any lidded plastic containers that you can use to pack your decor away after the holidays.

For baubles and ornaments that are breakable, wrap these in tinsel before packing them away in a suitable container. You can also repurpose egg cartons to safety store delicate bauble and ornaments.
