big change on a small budget
More often than not, even small changes can make a big difference to a kitchen.
RIGHT: The kitchen before looks bland an unappealing.
ABOVE: The kitchen after is warmer and brighter.
What was done:
1. The walls were given a good scrub with sugar soap and warm water. Rinse well and allow to dry.
2. The fridge/freezer was taken out to the garage for repainting using Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy spray. Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy is an ultra-hard, moisture resistant enamel that is specifically formulated for indoor metal surfaces.
3. Clean the surface with household cleaner and rinse well. Remove loose rust or paint by sanding or scraping your surface with a wire brush, sandpaper, steel wool or a scraper. Sand glossy surfaces lightly. Do not sand old paint that may contain lead.
4. Spray on smooth, even coats for a smooth, factory-like finish. Keep the can parallel to the surface of your object and move your can back and forth.
5. The walls were painted with two coats of Dulux Pearlgo - African Adventure 3. Be sure to allow complete drying time between coats. Dulux Pearlgo is a water-based enamel that has a satin smooth finish and is durable and washable - essential for a kitchen. |
