Build a DIY kitchen and save thousands

A new kitchen can be a very expensive project, but taking the DIY route can save you thousands of Rands and still provide a modern fitted kitchen.

Having installed my own kitchen a few years back, I know how much money you can save by taking the DIY route. Admittedly, this option is not for everyone - or for every kitchen - but if you already have some power tools and the skills to use them, you might want to consider a DIY kitchen installation for the smaller home.

If, like me, you are a fan of Builders Warehouse, you will know that they offer the widest range of DIY and home improvement products under one roof. Now, they have launched a series of publications that offer you practical advice, tops tips, as well as step-by-step instructions and videos to guide you through various projects. In the latest issue of Love Your Home you will find detailed instructions for assembling assorted kitchen cabinets, adding countertops and including finishing touches to create your own trendy kitchen.

View the videos associated with the DIY kitchen project for easy access to step-by-step instructions for assembly of flat pack cupboards and cabinets. Or view a video that explains how to mount all the assembled cabinets and add countertops.
