Playful Shapes

Create a learning environment with bright display boards.

You will need:
- Three soft boards
- Three large pieces of felt, plus additional felt for shapes,   letters, and numbers
- Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
- 6 large buttons or bows
- 6 wall anchors and screws
- Drill
- Screwdriver
- Scissors
- Stencils (or other patterns as desired)

Here's how:
1. Add felt to board - Centre one board on one piece of felt. Wrap the felt to the back and staple at the centre of each side. Make sure the felt is even and tight. Continue stapling, working to within 10cm of the corners.

2. Mitre the corners - First, fold the felt corner point in toward the board. Staple it in place along the edges of the board, then trim away the point (see pics). Fold down the "ears" that remain, and staple them in place to finish the miter

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with remaining pieces of board and felt.

4. Fasten the boards to the wall with wall anchors.

5. Hot-glue buttons and bows to the corners of each felt board to cover the anchors that attach the board to the wall (see pic above).

6. Cut letters, numbers, and shapes from contrasting felt using stencils or computer-generated figures for patterns.
