You will need:
- Dresser
- Wood knobs
- Small round artist's brush
- Sand paper
- Clean cloth
- Styrofoam (or other item to hold knobs while painting)
- Drop cloths or old sheets
- Primer
- Acrylic paint : Deep Blue - Bright Red
- Artists' acrylic - black - white - grey
- Waterbased varnish
- Medium foam roller and tray
Here's how:
1. Remove the drawers from the dresser. Lightly sand the dresser, drawers and knobs and wipe clean with a cloth.
2. Apply primer to the dresser, drawers and knobs. Allow to dry completely.
3. Using the foam roller, paint the dresser bright red. Allow to dry and apply a second coat if necessary. Set aside.
4. Now move to the drawers and apply deep blue paint. Set aside to dry completely.
5. Use styrofoam to hold the knobs while you paint. (Or look for another creative way to keep the knobs in place.) Brush on the white acrylic to all three knobs and allow to dry.
6. Use a round artist's brush to paint red lines for the baseball and black on the soccer ball.
7. For the golf ball, dab the grey paint with the tip of your brush or use a cotton bud. Once it's dry, dab white paint over the grey but off to the side a bit. Allow to dry.
8. To protect the knobs apply two coats of water-based varnish.
9. Attach the knobs to the drawers and put the drawers back in the dresser. Fill with uniforms, socks, shin guards, and other sports stuff.
