Decorate a dream nursery
I recently stumbled upon this wonderful nursery. New parents, Eric and Kirsten have decorated a beautiful nursery for their daughter, Addison. This is a pictorial library of the finished nursery.

ABOVE and BELOW: Shades of pink, blue and cream on walls, furniture and fabrics create a vintage bedroom with all the essentials. The cot is a vintage find that has been carefully restored to its original condition.

LEFT: The lattice design was handpainted onto the wall and is taken from the fabric pattern used for the cot.
To re-create this effect trace and paint one lattice panel onto the wall and then place and reproduce the same design repeatedly over the wall.
DIY Tip:
Enlarge the lattic panel on a photocopier to the required size.

LEFT and BELOW:

The monogrammed wall adds a nice feature to the room and incorporates the rose design from the cot bedding.

If you are planning to decorate a nursery, the first place to start is with an idea. Magazine, home decor stores and the Internet are full of inspiration and it's easy to compile a digital collection of everything you like. With that in hand you can start designing the room.
Choose colour
If you have already set you heart on a design and have fabrics, use these as the basis for the colour for the room. As in the nursery above, the fabrics were the starting point for everything in the room.
Eric and Kirsten, congratulations on your new addition.
