Natural stone flooring maintenance

Regular maintenance will extend the lifespan of your floors. The longer that dirt and stains are left unattended the more damage they will cause. Treat and tend to any dirt and stains as soon as possible.

Sweep or vacuum stone floors at least every day and wash at least once a week. Always refresh your water and use clean equipment to clean your floors along with a mild detergent and warm water. Do not forget to dry with a dry cloth to get rid of excess water and to prevent salts from oozing out of the stone

Most stone, especially limestone and sandstone, are extremely permeable and absorb water and stains very easily. Sealing your floor is of utmost importance and will prevent water and dirt permeating into the stone
