Do you know what goes into a hamburger?

You have to love Jamie Oliver. In 2011 Jamie launched a campaign on his US foor show , "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution" to highlight what manufacturers are legally allowed to put into prepared foods such as minced beef, hamburger patties, viennas and such.

Now, we may not live in the US, and can only hope that our food standards are higher, but do you really think that is the case?

You will be shocked and may very well be disgusted by what Jamie Oliver has to show you.

WARNING - This video is intended to inform and shock

According the Jamie, "The use of chemically-treated scrap meat is to me [as a chef and a food lover] shocking". He goes on to say . "... Basically we're taking a product that would be sold in the cheapest form for pet food and making it 'fit' for humans."

Ammonium hydroxide is one of a number of processing aids widely used with meat and poultry. But what is discerning is the fact that, because it is a component in a production procedure — separating scrap meat — rather than an ingredient, it does not need to be listed on food labels.
