Which plastics can be recycled?

I am very concerned when it comes to plastic waste and the overall effect that this type of waste has on our environment - and our planet.
But some plastics can be recycled.
To know which plastic products can be recycled, look for an identification code or stamp on the product you are buying.
Here is a chart that shows the various plastic that can be recycled and those that cannot.
As you can see below, plastic products with the codes 4, 5, 6 and 7 cannot be recycled. In an effort to curb the waste of these products both manufacturers and consumers need to look at alternative ways to contain or pack foodstuffs.
