Get your deck in tip-top shape
With a little elbow grease and some new Woodoc Deck Sealer or
Deck Dressing, your deck will be back in showcase condition.
1. Cover plants and the surrounding area to protect and prevent
stains and spatter.
2. All decking, railings and stairs must be sanded down to bare wood.
Sand with the grain of the wood. Alternatively a paint stripper
could be used. Remember to neutralise the paint stripper after
use, according to instructions. Any black areas (a sign of fungal
growth) remaining after sanding should be treated with Woodoc
Wood Reviver.
3. Wipe the surface clean to remove any dust. You are now ready
to apply Woodoc Wood Reviver if necessary. Carefully read the
instructions on the plastic bucket for mixing directions and how the
product should be used correctly.
4. Scrub the surface thoroughly with Woodoc Wood Reviver with
the brush included in the Wood Reviver kit or use a household
scrubbing brush. For safety, wear the protective gloves included.
Once the blackened surface has been removed, wash the wood
down with a hose pipe.
5. Allow the wood to dry out completely, preferably 2-3 days in
warm sunny weather, before sealing/treating with Woodoc Deck
Sealer or Deck Dressing. Smooth down the wood again before
sealing as the Woodoc Wood Reviver can leave the surface
feeling rough.
6. Apply Woodoc Deck Sealer/Deck Dressing with a good quality
paint brush. Make sure that you apply product to the sides of the
deck planks as well.
7. All Woodoc products should be applied to clean, dry and bare wood.
