You will need:
- Concrete mix (available from hardware stores)
- Grout - white
- Tile Nippers
- Mould
- Tile Adhesive
- Broken crockery
- Gravel
- Marbles
- Spatula
- Measuring Cup and mixing containers
- Cool water
- Sponge
Here's how:
1. Mix concrete according to package directions
2. Pour mixture into mould and let set until completely dry, about 24 hours.
3. Remove set stone from mould. Arrange nipped crocker petals on stone
surface to form flower and, using tile adhesive, adhere each petal, leaving
round space in the middle for flower centre.
4. With tile nippers, nip ceramic chips and broken dishes into smaller pieces
of various shapes and sizes. Arrange nipped pieces around adhered petals
in random pattern, spacing no more than 5mm apart.
5. Arrange gravel in centre of flower and outline flower centre in nipped pieces
of black ceramic tile. At each point in the stepping stone, add a glass
marble. When you are satisfied with the total arrangement, secure each
piece with tile adhesive and let dry, approx. 24 hours.
6. Wearing rubber gloves, mix grout according to package directions. Spread
and smooth a thick layer over tile design, pushing grout into all cracks and
crevices, working from centre out to edges of stone, similar to frosting a
cake. You may find a spatula works better than gloved hands.
7. Wipe grouted surface with a damp sponge and let surface dry. When dry,
polish tiles and glass with a clean, dry cloth to reveal colourful design.
Entire surface may be sealed with a grout sealer for extra protection.
