DIY rainwater harvesting system

With most of the country in the grip of a drought, here's a way to collect water by making a DIY rainwater harvesting system.

We take water for granted and it's only when the shortages hit that we realise we need to do more to harvest this precious resource.

The DIY rainwater harvesting system consists of two drums that are plumbed together to form a single water container. The fitted tap allows a hosepipe to be attached, while a hole in the top of one of the drums allows for rainwater to be collected via a downspout.
