A Pool that looks new!

Is your pool stained, grubby and in need of a revamp for summer? Then read on...

It's reaching the end of a very hot summer and if your family is anything like mine, the pool was in continual use.

The pool is now eight years old and I felt that it was time for a pool revamp - with help from the guys at Line-A-Pool. The change is unbelievable, it's almost like having a brand new pool! I would recommend this procedure to any homeowner, not only from an aesthetic viewpoint, but also affordability.

I must be honest and admit that I was a bit sceptical about 'painting' the pool, but here's where the misunderstanding comes in, whilst the epoxy paint is applied with a paint roller - like you would with paint, epoxy paint hardens to a thick, impervious layer. It took 3 days from start to finish - no mess, no fuss - to transform my very dingy-looking pool.

As part of the overall revamp the rock feature waterfall also got a makeover. What originally looked like a big pile of 'doggy doo' now looks like a cascading rock feature.

With some touch up on the faux rock paving (see Home-Dzine Online - March '08 issue), a made-over rock feature, a new LED pool light, and a pool that looks stunning, winter had better come and go very fast!

Above: My pool before the revamp. The sides were stained green and black, there were rust marks on the bottom and the marblite was just about worn through in places.

Above: The pool after the revamp. Looking like new. The sides are smooth and will resist any attempts by black or green algae to grab a hold and take over.
