Give your outdoor furniture a makeover with Rust-Oleum

Giving your garden furniture a makeover is as easy as 1... 2... 3.... Buy a can or two of Rust-Oleum spray paint, prepare your furniture for painting and then spray on glorious, new colour. It's as easy as that.

When we do projects on Home-Dzine, we use Rust-Oleum spray products. Why? Because we know our project will turn out looking professional and perfect.

Unlike other spray paints that drip and run, and where you have to apply 6 or 7 coats to get a nice finish, Rust-Oleum spray paints contain more paint and less solvent. That means more paint on your project - so you need less coats. And because Rust-Oleum contains less solvent, that also means less drips and runs.

Use Rust-Oleum Gloss Enamel spray on outdoor furniture that you want to look good for longer. The unique formula stops rust to ensure that iron or steel furniture remains in good-looking condition.

Rust-Oleum Gloss Enamel spray is perfect for giving wrought iron or steel furniture a new look in an instant.

1. Sand down surfaces with 120-grit sandpaper to remove loose or flaking paint.

2. Any areas that show rust can be treated with Rust-Oleum Rust Stripper. Follow the instructions to apply and neutralise the product properly.

3. Wipe clean and let dry, place the furniture on a drop cloth or sheets of newspaper and spray on a new finish.

The correct way to apply spray paint to any surface is to apply light, even coats from a distance of no less than 30cm away from the surface. It is far better to apply two light coats than one thick, runny coat.

Even plastic furniture can be painted. Rust-Oleum Spray for Plastic comes in a variety of colours that will update and refresh drab looking garden furniture. Rust-Oleum Spray for Plastic also comes in Satin, Hammered or Textured, so that you can be even more creative when painting plastic.
