Scaffolding plank display table

Scaffolding planks, new or used, are great for using to make various furniture projects. This display or console table is made using new pine scaffolding planks and galvanised pipe. You can buy everything you need for this project at your local Builders Warehouse.

Scaffolding planks are long and 32mm thick, so they are very strong and won't bow easily when used for tables.

Make a 2 metre long table with scaffolding planks and lengths of galvanised pipe and pipe mountings. The planks are glued and clamped together, with an aluminium flat bar screwed to the underside every 500mm along the total length.

There are various methods for ageing and staining the wood to give it the appearance of old wood. You will find quite a few techniques in the Decorating section, or click here for how we aged our wine crates.
