You will need:
- Fresh fruit, vines and leaves
- Footed cake stand
-
Filler materials, such as asparagus fern
- Wired ribbon
- Styrofoam ball, 15cm in diameter
- Wooden skewers or picks
- Thin wire
- Prestik
Here's how:
1. Cut styrofoam ball in half; secure to top of cake stand with Prestik.
2. Insert vines, allowing some vines to cascade around base of cake stand.
3. Insert wooden skewers or picks into apples. Secure to styrofoam, grouping apples on one side of the arrangement. Break off ends of skewers if they are too long.
4. Secure pears on opposite side. Secure two clusters or oranges, again on opposite side of the arrangement - between apples and pears.
5. Wrap thin wire around small cluster of bananas; insert into styrofoam, allowing bananas to cascade downward over the rim. Repeat for cluster of bananas on opposite side.
6. Wrap wire around one or two leaves; filling in bare areas between clusters of fruit with leaves.
7. Wrap wire around clusters of grapes; space randomly, allowing some to cascade over the sides.
8. Fill any remaining bare areas with fern. Arrange a wired ribbon throughout the centrepiece, tucking ribbon into the crevices and draping it over the sides.
