Make a chunky floating shelf
This is a project that I tackled earlier this year as one of a series for The Power Within on SABC 3.
I absolutely hate seeing myself on TV - knowing that I'm not photogenic, but perhaps you can have a good giggle and learn something new at the same time!

For the series I made a chunky floating shelf using PAR pine and laminated pine shelving that I bought from Builders Warehouse. Although not able to supply a true image of what the shelves look like, the above picture is almost exactly what your finished shelves will be.
This is an easy way to make your own floating shelves at a fraction of the cost of ready-made shelves, and you can make as many as you like.
