Festive decor picture frame
As the trees start to shed their leaves you can pick up or break off a few small branches from trees in the garden to create a live picture for hanging on the wall.
Look for branches that have a nice lines and that will work for mounting into a picture frame. You can use very small and medium-thickness twigs and branches for the arrangement.
Make up a frame for your branch display using PAR pine that you can source at your local Builders or timber merchant. Join the frame together with wood glue and screws. Cover up screws with wood filler, let dry and then sand smooth.
Mark the size of the frame on your branches to make sure they fit, and then cut branches down to size with secateurs, jigsaw or multi-purpose saw.
Secure the branches inside the frame - at the top and bottom - with a screw.
Sand the frame smooth before applying your choice of paint.
