String art makes a comeback!

As a little girl I loved creating wonderful designs on my Spyrograph. Anyone remember those? The box had a selection of templates and different coloured pens to create colourful designs that are similar to string art designs.
And talking of string art... String art designs are popping up all over the Internet. It's a fun and affordable way to get creative and make your own artwork with nothing more than emboidery thread and some pins.
I will be posting free patterns in the March issue of Home-Dzine Online, but until then, here are some ideas to get you started:

Thienli Azim at Mod Paperie models her card designs on the Spirograph using twine to create grometic shapes.
The holes were created using her cutting machine, but you can always just use a punch or a piercer.

Over at Design Curiosities they have a feather wall hanging that is created using string art and small nails.
