Fabric wrapped wire lampshade
Don't you just love this trend of fabric wrapped wire lampshades - also know as ghost shades! You can totally design your own unique lampshade using a wire frame and scraps of fabric, with a few unique embellishments.
I think this is a wonderful way to repurpose an old lampshade and give it a new life in and around the home.
And you can do the same if you want to make a new shade for a table lamp.

Make your own ghost lampshade
To make your own ghost lampshade you can use scraps of fabric, washi tape, yarn, lace or ribbon.
There are many ways to wrap the frame but the easiest by far is to wrap a layer of double-sided tape around the frame before you wrap the fabric. This holds the fabric in place. Secure the end with a sticky glue dot or blob of hot glue.
Bear in mind that you need to use a CFL or energy efficient globe if you plan to use the shade on a lamp.
If using fabric scraps is just not your cup of tea, but you like to idea of a ghost shade, you can spray your lampshade frames with Rust-Oleum 2X spray paint.
