How to use etching cream
Do you have a running list of projects that you want to try...just because? Maybe because it looks interesting, or fun, or challenging...or maybe you're just curious.
Of course you do! You're a DIYer...a crafter...a dreamer...a creator!!
One of the things on my very, VERY long list is glass etching. So a couple of weeks ago I picked up a very inexpensive olive oil bottle with a spout for dish soap.

Here's how:
You will need a pack of sticky alphabet letters - you will find them at Westpack - Lifestyle, craft or stationery shops.
Apply the letters down the middle of one side and then used masking tape to tape off a rectangular area around the letters.

Brush on a thick layer of etching cream over the letters and up to the masking tape.
Leave the etching cream on in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions - normally around 5 minutes.

To neutralise the etching cream, rinse under running water.
DIY Tip
If you find that the letters are very faint you can repeat the process until you are happy with the final result.
