Give my braai a makeover with Rust-Oleum high temperature spray

The average South African braai has to be ready for anything - at any time! Because we love a good braai, in winter or summer. Grab a can of Rust-Oleum High Heat spray and give your braai a makeover.

Our poor braai has definitely seen better days, but apart from looking sad it's in good condition. I think it's time for a makeover!

You can easily and affordably revive an old braai with a spray paint specifically formulated for high heat applications. Rust-Oleum High Heat Ultra resists heat so it's great for braais, grills, fire pits and wood burning stoves. Plus, it's available in traditional black, as well as stylish colours and finishes, like brown and aged copper - so your braai will look better than new.

The grill is probably filthy and rust tends to collect underneath as well! Using a Dremel multi-tool with a buffing wheel, dirt and rust are easily removed. Seal it using a high temperature tool such as the Dremel VersaFlame.

HERE'S HOW:

Before spraying you need to give the braai and any other parts to be sprayed a good clean. A strong degreaser - I used Clean Green - some steel wool and sourcing pads will get rid of all the built up grease and grime. Soak grill trays in hot water with some dishwashing liquid. Leave for half an hour or so and then scrub clean. Wipe everything dry with a clean cloth and spread the items onto a plastic drop cloth or newspaper. Lightly spray from a distance of no less than 30cm. Only a light first coat is required. Let this dry before applying a second coat.
