Chocolate 'Smarties'

As part of a recent bedroom makeover I came up with a unique idea for a headboard. So easy and so simple, yet practical, stylish and affordable.

You will need:
- 16mm plywood to cut as many circles as you will need
- Extra thick batting
- Faux suede or other fabric of choice
Tools: Jigsaw, Bosch Tacker, scissors, spirit level, straight edge

Here's how:
1. Draw circles and cut out with a jigsaw.

2. Use the plywood circles to cut out both batting and faux suede to cover the circles. The batting needs to be the same size as the plywood circle, whilst the faux suede must allow for folding under and tacking to the back side.

3. Place the faux suede face down and position the batting onto this, with the plywood circle on top. Pull the fabric back, starting at north, pulling tight at south, then east and west in the same way, tacking each point to the back of the plywood circle.

4. Now pull and fasten the remaining fabric to the back, moving around and pulling tight as you go along. Use your scissors to trim off any excess.

5. Use a spirit level and straight edge to mark the mounting position above the bed. Use concrete nails to mount each individual 'smartie' to the wall.
