Wheeled Storage Drawers for Child's Bedroom

I stumbled across this project on hometalk and wanted to share this easy way to dress up plain drawers and re-purpose them for underbed storage.

YOU WILL NEED:

Old drawers

Caster wheels and 16mm screws

Reclaimed flooring or wood planks

Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover spray paint in your choice of colour

Decorative knobs or handles

TOOLS:

Drill / Driver plus assorted bits

HERE'S HOW:

1. Depending on the condition of the drawers these may need a light sanding if you don't plan on cladding, as mentioned below.

2. If the drawers do not have a solid base, add a couple of pine or plywood supports to allow for mounting the caster wheels.

On the original post some leftover flooring was used to clad the drawers. The corners were mitred and the strips nailed to the outside of the drawers.

Give the outside a light sanding, add the knobs or handles and then spray with your choice of colour using Rust-Oleum 2X spray paint. You will find full range of Rust-Oleum products at your local Builders store.
