How to fit an undermount basin or sink
Not everyone prefers to fit an abovemounted basin, or have a basin that sits on top of a vanity, there are those that prefer to have an undermount sink or basin fitted. Here's how to install an undermount basin or sink.

Step 1
If you are mounting the basin into an existing vanity, you will need to remove the top in order to fit the new basin.
For a new vanity unit you will need to measure and mark for the correct position.
Drill holes for the anchors, insert anchors and move the vanity back into position and fasten in place.
GOOD TO KNOW
If you need to cut out an opening in the counter, use the basin as a template to mark out the opening size. Drill a 10mm hole through the counter to allow the insert of the jigsaw blade - if cutting through Formica or melamine. For granite or marble you will need to use an angle grinder to cut out.
Step 2
Flip the countertop over and apply a thin bead of silicone around the opening on underside of the counter.
This will provide a waterproof seal between the top of the basin and the underside of the counter.
Step 3
Set the sink on the opening and look throughout the drain hole to make sure the sink is centred.

Step 4
Attach the sink clips and lightly tighten with ratchet, taking care not to crack the sink.
