Stylish storage solutions
Even a small bathroom can have enough space for more than a vanity cabinet. Use your imagination to come up with creative ideas for extra storage:
Above and below
Above the toilet is one area that is easily forgotten. This practical wall space is perfect for putting up narrow shelves, or for mounting a cabinet. Or what about small, low cabinets on either side of the toilet. These storage solutions are perfect for putting away hand towels, toilet rolls and bathroom essentials and leave a small bathroom clutter-free.
Double duty bathroom
If your bathroom is large enough, consider storing (and using, of course) your workout equipment in it (see image top). The bathroom is the perfect place to have a morning workout - and you can finish off with a refreshing shower once you're done!
Storage to the ceiling
Who says storage has to be in certain places? This bathroom (top right) has standard under-sink cabinetry and takes advantage of the vertical space by adding recessed medicine cabinets in either end wall. Essential storage without using valuable floor space.
Clever storage options
This master bathroom (image right) features several varieties of storage options. There's a basket for linens underneath the sink, a clever shelf in front of the mirror, a floor-to-ceiling armoire and on-the-wall towel racks.
And if you're in the mood to splurge... install a heated towel rail so that you towels are always fluffy and warm - perfect for that relaxed bathing experience you have been promising yourself!
Amost out of sight
Under-sink storage doesn't always have to be behind closed doors. Expose how stylish your storage is with practical wicker baskets in various sizes.
The bathroom (bottom right) boasts plenty of under-sink storage, yet the room does not appear cluttered on untidy.
If you prefer to have your bathroom essentials hidden out of sight, attach doors to the front of cabinets, or attach a table skirt to the front of the unit.
Quick and easy ideas
If your bathroom is short on storage, take a closer look around the room and identify open spaces where storage could be fitted. Another quick and easy storage option that doesn't take up much space is a wire tiered-basket set similar to that used for storing vegetables. Find one in a stainless steel and add some shine to a bathroom. |
