Restore an old and ugly mirror frame

You can pick up great bargains at auction sales and secondhand shops, but they aren't always in good condition.

Here's how to transform a junk shop find to a treasured possession!

You will need:

Old framed mirror
Rust-Oleum 2X Painter's Touch or Spray enamel
Vaseline
Newspaper
Masking tape

Here's how:

1. Clean the mirror well.

2. Lay flat in a well ventilated area, such as a garage or outdoors.

Safety First:
Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear a safety mask.

3. Tape off the mirror using newspaper and masking tape.

4. Spray the entire project in a dark colour (green was used for this project). When paint is dry, add some vaseline to all the edges with your finger.

5. Spray the project a light colour (we used white).

6. Allow to dry and then wipe off all vaseline - Voila!! You have a beautiful new mirror!

Rust-Oleum products are available at your local Builders Warehouse.
