Working With Wood Show
From 22 to 25 September 2017 you can visit the Working with Wood Show, hosted in George at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University - George Campus.
Originally launched in 2014 in Knysna, the Working with Wood Show is hosted around the country at various regions throughout the year. It has earned its reputation as South Africa’s most diverse woodworking and wood crafting event and showcases leading international brands such as Festool, Triton, Kreg, Howard Products, Pro Tech, Tork Craft, Bessey, Felo, Alpen, MPS, Spring Tools, Mag Switch, Aircraft, Drill Doctor, Saw Stop and Armor.
The Working with Wood Show is hosted in collaboration with AWSA (The Association of Wood turners South Africa) and top South African and international demonstrators share knowledge of their craft, including demonstrations on woodturning, carving, sharpening, pyrography, and cabinetry, amongst others.
The Working with Wood Show showcases sustainable timber production and the use of beautiful indigenous and exotic timbers by local wood artisans. "There is a growing need for more hands-on demonstrations, so that people can learn more about the applications for the latest tools and systems," said Roy Marcus, Chairman of AWSA.
